For Earth Day’s 40th anniversary last year, Terracyle commissioned Chicago couture designer Christina Liedtke to design a dress for TerraCycle’s Green Up Shop‘s short term showcase for the company’s upcycled products.

Liedtke, inspired by the pop-up shop’s spring theme, created a one of a kind dress from 600 recycled Peanut M&M wrappers which make up more than 1,800 individually cut and sewn flowers. The entire process took over 100 hours of labor and depicts the idea of flowers in bloom. The middle portrays a “landscape of blooming poppies” and “the bottom of the dress expresses a collage of fully bloomed mature flowers.”
